Without a doubt, as one who has studied the music of Gary Moore from quite early on in his career, the introduction of the multi-talented Neil Carter to Moore's rock band lineups, was indeed the catalyst for some of the finest and most enduring musical milestones in this phase of Gary's career. That Neil would unselfishly contribute his dynamic writing, playing abilities and performances, being such a gifted one in all these areas, truly is the mark of a great musician. To me the zenith of this collaboration, was the "Wild Frontier" era, even though Neil's actual contributions to the recorded album are not as substantial as other of Gary's albums, this LP and to a great deal as well, the "After The War" album, are standouts to me, though earlier albums have Moore/Carter compositions that are just as great.
On the 14th of August, Gary will play at the Pinkpop Classic festival in Landgraaf, The Netherlands. Back in his old rock days, they have played already at the Pinkpop festival (23rd of May, 1983), after the release of "Corridors Of Power" album. After 27 years Gary will return to Pinkpop with his new rock project...hopefully with Neil Carter in the band, who also has been at that concert in 1983, just before his joining to Gary's band for the US tour.
Tickets on sale already for the Genova Guitar Festival, but soon you will be able to buy tickets for two more shows in Italy. Gary and his new band will play in Milano on 27th, and in Rome on the 28th of July. Tickets will be available at the same place as for the Genova gig.
Gary Moore will be one of the special guests of the Hope For Haiti charity event in aid of the earthquake victims of Haiti. As you all know, on 12th January this year Haiti was hit by an earthquake that has caused catastrophic events for their people, their land and their infrastructure.
The concert will takes place at The Old Market in Hove, England on the 10th of April 2010. Program will start at 19.00. Tickets are available on the price of 10 GBP (15 GBP on door), but if you can't attend the concert please donate what you can.
"You can read" an exclusive interview in the May 2010 issue of the Japanese Burrn! magazine, where Gary is sharing his future plans with the readers.
The new Gary Moore record is planned to release this summer, and will not contain any cover songs this time, only own compostions. After this blues album Gary will start to recording the previously mentioned celtic-rock album, probably with Neil Carter, Jonathan Noyce and Darrin Mooney (as he mentioned previously, there will be other guests, too). The release of this album is planned for January 2011 under another record company's logo.
